How do I convert a web page to Markdown?
Paste the page address, keep Markdown selected and click Convert. The page is fetched, stripped of scripts, menus, sidebars and footers, and turned into Markdown you can copy or download as a .md file. Links and images keep their full URLs.
What does "Main content only" do?
It drops page furniture before converting: navigation, sidebars, forms, cookie and search dialogs, and site-wide headers and footers. Headers and footers inside the article itself are kept. Turn it off to convert the whole page.
When should I turn on "Render JavaScript"?
When the result comes back empty or missing content. Many modern sites build their content with JavaScript after the page loads. With Render JavaScript on, the page is loaded in a real Chrome browser first, which is slower but sees what you see.
Can it convert PDF links?
Yes. If the address points to a PDF, Markdown mode converts the document text to Markdown. Links and Scrape modes only work on HTML pages.
How does the CSS selector scraper work?
Add one or more selectors such as h1, .price or article a. Each match returns its text, or the value of an attribute if you enter one, such as href or src. Relative URLs are made absolute. You can use up to 10 selectors and get up to 100 matches each, and download the results as JSON.
Why is a page blocked or showing a sign-in wall?
The page is fetched from ToolDock's server without your cookies, so content behind a login cannot be read, and some sites block automated requests altogether. Results are cached for up to an hour, so repeat requests for the same page are instant.
