Understanding Color Formats

HEX represents colors as six-digit hexadecimal values (e.g., #FF5733) and is widely used in CSS and web design. RGB defines colors by their red, green, and blue components on a 0–255 scale. HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) and HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) express colors in terms humans find more intuitive, making them useful for adjusting shades and tints.

How to Use the Color Picker

Switch to the Color Picker tab to select colors visually using the interactive wheel and sliders, or enter a hex value directly. The Pick color from image tab lets you click any point on an image to extract its color, and automatically generates a palette of the most dominant colors.

Use the Pick from screen button (Color Picker tab) to sample any color visible on your monitor. Click any format value below the color preview to copy it to your clipboard for use in your code or design tool.
