Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of ToolDock at tooldock.dev, including our tools, reference pages, API and user accounts (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use any feature that requires one. By creating an account you confirm that you are at least 18 and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it, and “you” includes that organization.

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete the associated personal data. If you believe a minor has created an account, let us know through the feedback button on the site.

3. Your account

Many tools work without an account. To create one you must give us a valid email address and choose a password. You are responsible for keeping your password and any API keys secret, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised.

Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. One person or organization may not maintain multiple accounts to get around usage limits.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break the law or infringe anyone's rights while using the Service;
• probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service, or bypass its security or rate limits, without our written permission;
• use the Service, or targets reached through our tools (such as the uptime, TLS or headers checkers, or the website screenshot tool), to attack, overload or gain unauthorized access to any system you don't own or have permission to test;
• send spam, malware or unlawful content through the webhook tester or any other tool;
• scrape or resell the Service, or use automated means to access it beyond what the published API and your plan allow;
• use the AI-powered tools to generate content that is unlawful or that harms others.

We may throttle, block or remove access to anything that we reasonably believe breaks these rules.

5. Your content and data

You keep ownership of everything you enter into the tools, upload or send to us (“Your Content”). Most tools run entirely in your browser, and in that case Your Content never reaches our servers. When a tool needs to work server-side, such as the uptime checker, TLS checker, webhook tester or AI-powered tools, you give us a limited license to process Your Content only as needed to run that tool and return the result to you.

Don't submit anything you don't have the right to use, and avoid submitting secrets, credentials or regulated data (such as health or payment card data) to any tool that sends data to a server. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how it's handled.

6. API keys and usage limits

Some features are available through an API using keys created in your account. Keys are personal to you, and you must not share or publish them. We apply rate limits and may change them, and we may cap the number of keys per plan. Free usage is provided as-is and may be limited or changed at any time.

7. No professional advice

ToolDock includes calculators and data tools for finance, investing, mortgages, taxes and similar topics, and AI-powered tools that can produce inaccurate output. Results are provided for general information only. They are not financial, investment, tax, legal or other professional advice, and we don't guarantee that they are accurate, complete or current. Market and reference data may be delayed or wrong. Verify anything important independently and consult a qualified professional before you rely on it.

8. Third-party services and links

The Service relies on and may link to third-party services, such as hosting, authentication, analytics, bot protection and AI model providers. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or practices, and their own terms apply to your use of them.

9. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its design, code, text and branding, is owned by ToolDock or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service under these Terms. Open-source components remain under their own licenses. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that any tool's output will be correct.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ToolDock and its owners and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify ToolDock against claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, Your Content, or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

13. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these Terms, if we must do so to comply with the law, or if you are not eligible under Section 2. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

14. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may change or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms. When we make a material change we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you or ask you to accept the new Terms. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
